Traveled With/Met Traveling:

Accommodations:

We stayed at an Airbnb right off the old harbor. It was a great location and so fun to be at the heart of this charming town.

Interesting Information:

The mouth of the Seine River is in Honfleur. If you walk past Hotel le Cheval Blanc you will find the mouth of the Seine River

Favorite Food/Drinks:

  • We grabbed some crepes and other goodies at the market and they were delicious.
  • Le Champlain - we arrived late one night and this was one of the only restaurants open. They were so kind and we got some seafood that we absolutely loved.

Highlights/Memories:

  • Le Viieux Bassin - This Harbor is a great place to walk around and admire the beautiful buildings. Shop, stroll for cafes and people watch.
  • St. Catherine Church (Eglise Ste. Catherine)
  • Vibrant Market every Saturday
  • Walk around and explore the town. You will find great bakeries, flowers, cafes, and beautiful buildings.
  • If you want to do a self guided tour of the area you can rent an audioguide from the Tourist Office
  • Vieux Bassin (Old Port) - Stand near water facing Honfluer’s square harbor, with the merry-go-round across the lock to your left, and survey the town.
  • Walk up Cote de Grace for a great view of Honfluer and the Normandy Bridge
    • The Normandy Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western World
  • Walk along the estuary from the harbor to the beach. You will get a great view of the Normandy Bridge.

Recommendations For Next Time:

I wanted to check out Etretat, which is about 45 min away, but we ran out of time. Next time I want to make it a point to explore these chalky cliffs and different walking trails above the beach. These cliffs and views have been painted in many Impressionists paintings and next time I want to see it for myself!
